Central Grande Ronde Community Meeting

Join My Blue Mountains Woodland and local partners for a Community Meeting and Dinner on Tuesday, December 3rd from 5:30-7:30pm at the Elgin Stampede Grounds!

Attendees will have the opportunity to hear about your neighbors’ experience with the first round of the Rapid Assessment, discuss the rapid assessment and community wildfire mitigation and forest restoration projects with local partners, and learn more about the resources available to achieve your goals.

Dinner will be provided!

This meeting will close out the first round of a voluntary effort to map and assess the condition of private forestland in the Central Grande Ronde Landscape Resiliency Project (LRP), including the areas of Elgin, Spout Springs, Rysdam and Duncan Canyons. The Rapid Assessment was developed by Oregon State University (OSU) Extension Service to identify areas in need of restoration in order to protect our communities and restore our forests to a healthier, more fire-adapted state.

Partners include: Oregon Department of Forestry, Oregon State University Extension Service, the Natural Resource Conservation Service, Union Soil and Water Conservation District, and Wallowa Resources.
